Christos Koutsampelas is Assistant Professor in the Department of Social and Educational Policy of the University of Peloponnese. He graduated from the Department of Economics of the Athens University of Economics and Business in 2002. He received his Msc in International Economics and Finance and his PhD in Economics in 2003 and 2009, respectively; both from the Department of International and European Economic Studies of the Athens University of Economics and Business.

He worked at the University of Cyprus from 2011 to 2018, conducting research on social protection, inequality and redistribution. During that period, he has acted as independent national expert offering consulting services to the European Commission. Several of his studies have been cited by international organisations such as the European Commission, the IMF and the OECD.

His research interests include the study of educational and economic inequalities, redistribution and the analysis of the impact of educational policy on inequality. Dr. Koutsampelas has published in internationally recognised academic journals such as: International Journal of Educational Development, Education Economics and Economics Letters.
