Course Description

The main objective of this course is to present a series of relatively recent research projects which adopt a qualitative methodological approach. It attempts to highlight the role and the importance of qualitative methods of social research in different social science disciplines, from human geography, sociology and social anthropology to political science and social psychology. It includes issues of theoretical and epistemological underpinnings related with qualitative methodological approaches, reflexivity issues, multimethodological approaches, application of various qualitative methods (in-depth interviews, participant observation, etc.) for data collection as well as issues of qualitative data analysis and use of special software respectively.
