Course Description

In the context of the present course, the criminal/penal liability of doctors, that may be attributed to either medical act or failure, in the course of medical practice is being examined. The criminal liability is examined under the scope of the new Code of Medical Ethics and in reference to matters of the right choice of medical methodology, information of the patients, behavior of the patients during medical action and the liability of doctors in regard to medical failures. Consequently, the civil liability of doctors, the medical service contracts and medical liability in a trans-border level are also examined. Finally, relevant jurisprudence is also analyzed.
