Social Inequalities: employment, work, gender – 4 ECTS Manos Spyridakis Course description The course focuses on the analysis of the way the concept of social inequality as a process of social differentiation and hierarchical ranking of agents and groups on the basis of economic status, power and social prestige, intersects the dimension of employment, work and gender. Particular emphasis is given on the relationship between the concept of social inequality and the forms of formal and informal employment as well as on the investigation of the mechanism of production and structuring of gender asymmetry and of its practical expressions in the political, social and economic domain of social action.
