The subject area “Educational Programmes and Materials: Formal, In-formal and Distance Learning” of the Master of Arts programme, aims at providing in depth understanding of the scientific fields concerned with current forms of education, that is to say, formal, informal, non-formal and distance education. These are currently at the centre of attention, internationally. Emphasis is given on designing of educational programmes and the development of learning materials, as well as digital technologies and e-learning. The approaches vary. Some courses are predominantly theoretical and research orientated while other courses are focusing on practical applications in different educational contexts, and the formulation of educational policies.
The content of the programme of study combines high quality education on theoretical and methodological issues in this area of education research with the application of knowledge in the design of educational programmes and the formulation of policies.
