SHORT CV

Yiouli Papadiamantaki studied Sociology at Panteion University and the Deree College. She acquired a M.Sc. Econ. (in Sociology) from the London School of Economics. In 2001 she was awarded a Ph.D. in Education Policy (Panteion University).

She serves as assistant professor in European Education Policy at the Department of Social and Education Policy of the University of Peloponnese, where she gives courses on “Introduction in Education Policy”, “European Education Policies”, “Higher Education Policies” and “Quality Assurance in Higher Education”. She also gives courses at the Postgraduate Programmes of Study of the University of Athens “Special Education” and “Human Rights and Social Discrimination”.

Since 2000 she is working as a researcher in E.U. funded research projects (Νon-Official Higher Education, ADMIT, ESI, HEIGLO, EQUAPOL) and in research projects funded by the Greek Ministry of Education (Centre for Educational Studies – G.S.R.T.)

Her research interests span across the field of European education policy, especially higher education policies and comprise issues of organization and administration of education.  She co-ordinates the Greek team in the TEMPUS project “Quality Assurance through Professional Development”, which aims to facilitate the professional development of a cadre of academic leaders from Uzbeck Universities, though quality assurance, and to develop a Roadmap for quality enhancement. She is also a researcher in the team of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in the project "Admition in Greek higher education: A study of the social, educational and institutional dimensions of the demand for higher education and the policies for its' satisfaction: a comparative and empirical approach", project funded by the Operational Programme "Education and Lifelong Learning- Ministry of Education - Action Thalis.
