Vasilis Makrypodis is a graduate Electric Engineer (TEI) and serves as Special Teaching Staff at the Department of Social and Education Policy on the subject of “Computer Science and Applications”

He holds a Master’s degree on “Computer Science and Technology” in the specialization of “Computer Science and Applications” from the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the University of the Peloponnese. His Master’s thesis is on “Website Security Check: Methodologies and vulnerability testing”.

Prior to his current position, he had extensive work experience as network engineer in the private sector, in telecommunication companies.

He has worked at the Department of Social and Education Policy since 2003. More specifically:

  • 5/2003 – 12/2004 as a Network Engineer on a contract basis. His duties included the planning, development and realization of the expansion of the data and voice network of the University of the Peloponnese.
  • 12/2004 – 12/2014 as Special Technical Staff (E.TE.P.)

His duties included

    •  Configuration and servicing of the Department voice and data network
    •  Participation in a large number of Department and University tenders and committees.
    •  Planning and setting up, as well as technical support of the teleconferences room of the Department
    •  Technical support of the teleconferences service “e-presence’ of EDET.
    •  Support to the Department students as regards their institutional accounts and services such as e-mail, e-class, Eudoxus, academic ID, etc.
    •  Setting up and support of the two computer science laboratories of the Department, consisting of a total of 45 computers.
    •  Applied instruction in the courses “Introduction to Information and Communication Technologies”, “Methodology of Social/Educational Research” and “Digital and Information Literacy”.
  • 12/2014 – Special Teaching Staff (E.DI.P.)

In his current position, his duties have included:

    •  2014-2018: Applied instruction in the course “Introduction to Information and Communication Technologies”
    •  2018-: Applied instruction in the course “Digital and Information Literacy”.
