Short CV

Christos Koutsampelas graduated from the Department of Economics of the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) in 2002. He received his Msc in International Economics and Finance and his PhD in Economics in 2003 and 2009 from AUEB. He worked at the University of Cyprus from 2011 to 2018, conducting research on socio-economic inequality and redistribution. During that period, he also acted as independent national expert offering consulting services to the European Commission and other public organisations. Several of his studies have been cited by international organisations such as the European Commission, the IMF and the OECD.
His research has been published in peer-reviewed academic journals such as Leadership and Policy in Schools, International Journal of Educational Development, Education Economics and Economics Letters. His research interests include the economics of education, the measurement and analysis of socio-economic inequalities, the effect of educational policy on inequality as well as broader issues of redistribution and public policy analysis.
