The Pedagogical and Didactic Competence Program aims to provide pedagogical training of students from the Department of Social and Educational Policy, focusing on acquiring pedagogical knowledge and developing teaching and education design skills.

To obtain the Pedagogical and Didactic Competence Certificate from the Department of Social and Educational Policy, students are required to accumulate 39 credit points (ECTS) from a range of courses related to education sciences, which are divided into three thematic areas:

  • Education and upbringing issues
  • Learning and teaching issues
  • Specialized teaching and practical training.

Specifically, the courses in the third thematic area combine the design and implementation of micro-teachings with the observation and execution of lessons by students in secondary education schools related to social science subjects.

Students from the Department of Social and Educational Policy who wish to attend the program can choose specific courses from the Undergraduate Study Program leading to the Pedagogical and Didactic Competence Certificate. The procedure for course registration, the conditions for teaching and attendance, students' obligations, and evaluation methods are described in detail in the Study Guide and the Program's Operating Regulations.

Additionally, during the academic years 2019-2020 to 2022-2023, the program was offered free of charge, in accordance with the current legislation, to graduates of the Department of Social and Educational Policy and other related university departments that fall under the social sciences fields.

The Pedagogical and Didactic Competence Certificate is an additional professional qualification provided by the Department to its graduates, allowing them to work as social science teachers (PE78) (ASEP Official Gazette, Issue 20/18-4-2022 and ASEP Official Gazette, Issue 4/20-2-2023).
